Unique Experiences
Abroad in Austria
As part of my Advanced Machine Design class, I had the incredible opportunity to embark on a short trip to Vienna, Austria. This experience was particularly significant for me as it marked my first visit to Europe, fulfilling a long-standing desire to explore Austria since my youth. Immersing myself in a different culture proved to be profoundly enlightening, prompting introspection and self-discovery. The architecture, cuisine, and warm hospitality of the locals were just a few aspects that made this journey truly unforgettable and left me wanting to return. Moreover, the trip afforded me the chance to venture on day excursions to the Czech Republic and Slovakia, both of which as enlightening as Vienna. In conjunction with sightseeing and cultural immersion, the trip remained centered around engineering, aligning with the objectives of our class. We had the privilege of visiting prominent mechanical engineering companies in the region, such as the Schaeffler Group, providing firsthand insight into how engineering practices vary across different cultures. Witnessing these differences not only broadened my perspective but also sparked excitement for potential career opportunities on a global scale. In essence, my journey to Vienna and its neighboring countries not only enriched my academic understanding of advanced machine design but also enriched my personal growth through exposure to diverse cultures and professional experiences abroad.
